The implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has the potential to greatly improve the health of communities of color in California. Following the excellent turnout at our convening series in November, Seizing the Opportunity: Achieving Equity in Health Reform, many participants said they would like a way to stay regularly informed and engaged.
In response, the California Pan-Ethnic Health Network (CPEHN) is launching a new initiative – the Equity and the ACA webinar series!
Through 2012, these regular online forums will give you the opportunity to interact with key policymakers and advocates to learn the latest on the implementation of the ACA and discuss opportunities to get involved.
The first installment, Equity and the ACA: Establishing the California Health Benefit Exchange, will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am PT, and will focus on a key provision in the new health law that creates a regulated marketplace for consumers and small businesses to shop for and buy affordable, comprehensive health insurance. This web forum will feature a presentation from Peter Lee, Executive Director of the Health Benefit Exchange. He will provide a brief overview of the Exchange and discuss opportunities for stakeholder involvement in critical policy decisions that will impact the ability of California’s diverse communities to access quality coverage through the Exchange.
Register online today for this free event. We anticipate an exciting, informative webinar, so be sure to join us!

It is also a joy that people are now more willing to know a lot more regarding their health which most likely will empower them when it comes to their health. This will surely be of great help in helping more people afford quality medical care. This in turn will help ensure that they will stay productive because they are healthy. This excites me and would glad to write about this in the future.
