October 17, 2012 at 9:15 am by TrisaAs much as I love the Republican party I am really concerned about a candidate who flip-flops on the issues concerning women. We don’t need a president who will say one thing to one group and skew it for another. Either you support and are willing to uphold women’s concerns or you’re not. Don’t use us to get votes and not hold to the promises to make positive changes.

October 17, 2012 at 12:10 am by ValeneI thought Barack Obama did an outstanding job speaking to the issues of women. I counted 20 times that he referred to women’s issues. The glass ceiling, equal pay, women’s rights, contraception, etc. are major issues and I was glad it was included in the debate.
Though Mitt Romney mentioned some I was not impressed. The reference to getting home so we could cook dinner on time is ancient thinking and speaks to his beliefs about equal rights for women.
We need a president who really BELIEVES in equality and will fight for that passionately. I think Barack Obama is that president.

@Valene, Amazing how your rose-colored glasses skewed your perspective of Romney’s statement. When Romney made the dinner comment, he was advocating flexible schedules for single moms. But hey dont let the intentions of his remarks get in the way of the political mischaracterizations that can be made. No one seems to care about the 4.6 million women who have been added to the poverty statistics under this President’s watch. As long as the President offers us free birth control, we will vote for another four years of the same economy, and who knows, maybe we can add 5 million more women into poverty by then. It’s amazing how condescending liberal men can be to our gender and we seem to applaud it!

Great to hear a lot more this time on fair pay, childcare, contraception and health care, and family economic security.
