Thank you Medicaid for saving my life

At a time when I thought I had hit rock bottom it was Medicaid that stood as my beacon of light. I was diagnosed with Lupus and didn't know what to do. Never being sick before i had no clue on how much medicine would cost. I would soon find out the cost of being sick. With Chemo treatments, co pays, prescription costs there was no time to actually focus on me being sick. Then I was able to apply my medicaid benefits to the total cost of treatment. What a life saver! There was no way I could have made it worrying and stressing over how will I afford to pay for my care. It was medicaid that stepped. All the while i worked and paid taxes and did my duty to stay a productive responsible citizen of society. Medicaid is not for free loaders. No, medicaid is designed to assist those in need of medical care who, otherwise could not afford it. Currently i am not on Medicaid due to my recent marriage. We are blessed to have a primary and secondary but Medicaid was there for me when I had no one else in my corner.
