My Mom's last years

My mother passed away in 2007 after living in Assisted Living for five years and in Adult Foster Care home for the last 2 years of her life. She worked hard all of her life and when she needed help Medicaid came to her rescue.

At age 85 she had only her small Social Security check for income and could not afford the cost of living in Assisted Living even though her Physician said she had to leave her apartment because it was no longer safe for her to live alone.

Without the monthly help from Oregon Medicaid her last years would have been very different. But due to Medicaids help she died peacefully at age 90 with Hospice care and wonderful care in the Adult Foster home she lived in in Salem, OR. in
