Aging mother-in-law

My mother-in-law is approaching 90 and has been paying into the system since she was 18-years-old. Her departed husband was a WWII vet. She simultaneously cared for her two children and her own parents. She brought her aging parents into her home, I am now bringing into mine.

My family, which also includes two young children, cannot afford to take on the cost of her medical care. Without medicare, our own finances would suffer, and we would be forced to substantially cut back on other spending, thus affecting the overall economy. And I'm sure I'm not the only person in this situation.

We cannot abandon this generation of Americans in their time of need. They sacrificed for us.
