I've been furloughed from the CDC in Atlanta; there are thousands of us here. We are anxious to get back to work. We work on strategies to reduce chronic illness like heart disease and diabetes and we are not allowed to work. It doesn’t make sense that this Congress is holding us hostage.

My family can probably go a week more if I get paid for the last 2 weeks in September. By next week I will have to end childcare for my toddler which will put another person out of work. I will have to stop enrichment classes for my 1st grader. These are not easy to get children back into but we will have to be frugal until our government decides to govern and work like we voted them to do.
