"Do you have kids?" "Are you married?"

While federal law prohibits employers from asking female job applicants these questions if they don't ask the same questions of men, or to make hiring decisions based on negative stereotypes about mothers...IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!

This is one reason why 22 states explicitly forbid employers from asking job applicants about their marital status. We need clear laws that are easy to enforce. Pennsylvania has bill to stop hiring discrimination ready to go.

Help make history first in Pennsylvania, and then across the nation, by building momentum to end discrimination against mothers! Please sign on to the petition to support the mothers of Pennsylvania (No matter where you live, your petition signature is very helpful--it puts the Pennsylvania legislators on notice that the nation is watching). And if you have friends, or family, in Pennsylvania, please ask them to sign on too!
