We triumphed with the resume deliveries to Senator McCain today! There were FOUR tv cameras! CBS, CNN, WTTG (local Fox news) and Telemundo. Plus a wire service and I think an AP camera (it was a little crazy). And the AFL-CIO is going to post on their blog and include a photo.
McCain's staff looked completely dumbstruck when we strode into their offices wearing banners and carrying resumes. We politely told them that we understood the Senator was away, but that we wanted to leave him some resumes from some extremely qualified women because we were extremely disappointed by his comments on the Fair Pay Act and we'd like him to reconsider his position.
Then we stacked the resumes on the poor staffer's desk and swept out of the office.
(Then CBS made us do it all over again because he didn't get the shot the first time.)

FANTASTIC!!
The organizing behind this action was tremendous. I think you all really made the message clear-- sure, anyone could use more "education and training," but us moms would just like equal pay for the education and training we *already have* thankyouverymuch.
I love that the CBS crew had you march in again to get the shot right! I can't wait to see the coverage of this.
Thanks for being such a visible and dynamic face and voice for all the mamas out there who work hard for their families and just want the dignity of equal treatment.
