We need this!

Not only am I waiting to get health coverage for myself, but I'm waiting to help others get coverage as well (like my aunt who has been self-employed and not making enough money to cover herself as she ages).

As a new business owner, I worry about my health and as a mother I worry about not being covered if something should happen to me. I have not had coverage since September 2011 and I am increasingly anxious that I haven't received certain tests that are medically necessary for me, given my medical and family history.

I am waiting with bated breath for Tuesday and cannot fathom having something like a government shut down (comprised of people that DO have health insurance) keep me from attaining reasonable coverage.

It's bad enough that I live in a state that isn't expanding medicaid coverage at the moment and might not have the people in place to help out with the healthcare marketplace next week. But to think that I might have to wait longer for coverage because people want to use this gamble with is unconscionable.

I am going to be posting information on my blog to help those that need help figuring this out AND to help those help others that might need help and don't have access to a computer (or aren't able to understand the online process).

This is super important and I hope that we can set the rhetoric aside and start thinking about the families back home waiting for this to go through.
