My dad owns a gun, but he supports common-sense restrictions on gun ownership, like places where guns are and aren't allowed. My dad doesn't see a need to take his hunting rifle out to public parks or playgrounds. When guns are allowed where they shouldn't be, people are more likely to be hurt and killed by them. The answer to gun violence isn't more guns. Please help make it so the next generation of North Carolinians will have fewer stories about losing friends to senseless violence.
When I was a senior in college, I lost a friend to gun violence. We were two months from graduation, and excited about the future. Gun violence took that away from her.
