Though I am proud of all the work that has been done by this org. , the the issue of paid sick leave, as many other things, boils down to $$$$...My point is that we have to look at our selves and our society on a more fundamental level in order to find a "cure". The problem is actually that we have become is a consumeristic, dehumanized society where the wellbeing of individuals and society is always secondary to the monetary gains of institutions, companies, etc. Until there is a paradigm change in our way of thinking, many of the problems you are seeking to tackle and solve, will not be cured. Statistics show the price that our society is paying for neglecting "mommy work" in terms of incarceration, mental illness etc.
I suggest MOTHERS take a new approach and address the issue at its core. We must insist that as a civilized society, the wel being of people counts. That means a cradle to grave aproach..(motherhood lies somewhere in that path!)That means health care for all, decent working conditions including paid sick time off, and a de-emphasis of the "bottom line"
