Housing

In April 2013, I will be moving from my home of 17 years because if inappropriate lending practices and being ignorant to the full facts at the time refinancing occurred. Now, I am fully educated and aware that a "balloon" payment is due. Yet, I have been trying to resolve this issue since 2009 without any success once aware that I even have a balloon payment. My contract has now been sold to three different mortgage companies, and regardless of all the government programs made available from the fallout of the housing slump do not help. You know why? Because if an individual does not carry a certain percentage of debt or not in foreclosure, and have a good credit rating...it does not apply, per the Government HEMP Program, which I have in writing from the Government. I cannot get a new mortgage loan because property values are still at their lowest points, therefore if I sell, I still lose. Now, I am looking to RENT a home until this phase has passed. My question is, why are there no programs/entitlements in these instances, which forces individual out of their homes, causing more foreclosures and bankruptcies to skyrocket, and lose the “American Dream”? Additionally, I will begin paying on tuition payments in 2013, which I may have to defer because of the lack of confidence in the system in this instance and will need to double my savings if I intend to pursue homeownership. My employment could potentially be in jeopardy because I work at a government subcontracting company where government contracts are not being awarded in addition to government cut backs on government spending…I still believe and have faith in our democracy…but lately I have had my doubts.
