It chills me to the bone to learn that in some jurisdictions people are allowed to freely carry guns - even to children's sporting events and public parks. The idea certainly gives me great pause when considering where to go for vacation and other leisure time. Perhaps it is a bit naive to think that my children are "safe" just because they are now adults but at least when they were they could play soccer or in a park without such a specter hanging over their heads.
It is always concerning that some gun toting person with an unusual perspective on the world is going to set loose in a restaurant or other public space so really we are all more at danger when folks have freedom to carry guns wherever they go and encroach on the safety of others. If someone is really going over the edge perhaps no one is protected by a law but why make someone more ignitable than they already are?
