I'll accept rankism as the word to describe the discrimination mothers face. Instinctively mothers know that the role we perform as nurturer is invaluable. We should believe this with confidence. Yet the implicit message we receive from society is that because there is no money value attached to nurturing, it's not worth much. I agree that we need to fight for dignity and respect.
