Ruby Sinreich is a web developer who has worked in progressive advocacy organizations and online communities for over two decades. She created the first website for the North Carolina Justice Center, was the first online field organizer at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, consulted on network-centric organizing strategies for Greenpeace International and the American Civil Liberties Union, and led the creation and management of one of the most active Drupal Commons sites in the world at HASTAC.org.
Ruby is passionate about open source software and open space meetings, and enjoys facilitating unconferences for fellow geeks and nonprofit workers. She is a recovering blogger and local politico, who can sometimes still be found at Black Lives Matter protests and PTA meetings. She moved all the way from her hometown in Chapel Hill to Durham, NC and loves being in a diverse, creative, culturally rich, and financially affordable city. She practices Engaged Buddhism and lives with her son who is an elementary school student in Durham Public Schools and their very cranky, very fluffy cat.
