Take Action!

Unexpected awesomeness happened last week: Gwyneth Paltrow, after ending her food stamp challenge, urged people to fight for fair pay & increased access to healthy food through.... MomsRising!!! [1]

Gwyneth tried (and failed) to live on a $29 weekly food budget, the average per-person benefit level provided by SNAP (food stamps). Should she have bought seven limes? Probably not ... but the online discussions have created an opportunity.

Thank you, Gwyneth!

Here's the opportunity: Will you help us channel this media coverage of the food stamp challenge into our "Hands Off Cutting SNAP" message to Congress?

This is an "all hands on deck" moment. Together we are a powerful force and can build a nation where everyone can thrive. But it’s going to take all of us--and our friends too—to have the impact we need for our families.

We have a special SNAP action page for people new to this fight. Please share this link with your friends and family via e-mail and through social media: http://action.momsrising.org/sign/SNAP/?source=blog

Here is a handy one-click way to share on Facebook - just click the button below!

And here is a one-click share for Twitter:

*Last not not least: Will you personally ask a friend (or two ... or five) to join with MomsRising and take action to protect SNAP? Moments like these are important times to grow our movement, and to change our world. YOU can help. Please share our campaign to protect SNAP today.
