The story about Israel Hilton, an uninsured Texas man with terminal brain cancer left me heartbroken at first. That feeling quickly turned to anger after finding out that, despite working full-time, the jobs he'd worked didn't offer health insurance. With an income of just $13,000/yr there's no way he could afford health insurance... and what's more infuriating is that $13,000 income is $9,000 MORE than the current cutoff for Medicaid coverage in the state of Texas.

But it doesn't have to be this way!

MomsRising is working with a coalition of organizations across the state of Texas to encourage legislators to expand the Medicaid program that very well could've saved Israel's life. Join us! http://texasleftmeout.org/
