Have you heard? Ugly is the new black! Ugly fruit and vegetables that is. They're tasty, nutritious and oftentimes much cheaper than other produce. But best of all, eating cosmetically imperfect, wonky, or "ugly" fruit and veggies can help end waste, which is at an all time high.

Although there are plenty of farmers markets, small markets, co-ops, and corner stores that have been selling cosmetically imperfect, wonky, or "ugly" fruit and veggies, supermarket's throw out one third of produce because it does not meet it's stringent cosmetic standards.

With photos of ugly fruits and vegetables, pop culture references, and humor, Jordan Figueiredo, the creator of the @UglyFruitAndVeg campaign is on a funactivisim mission to end this food waste!
