* Questions and comments: Our experts will answer your questions and you will have a chance to share your highest priorities for health reform.
* What’s next? We will ask for and share ideas on how we can help in this final stretch of health reform. We also want to hear about why you believe health reform is important. And we’ll share your ideas, thoughts, and priorities with the White House, Congress, and our partner organizations.

October 14, 2009 at 10:06 pm by Laura BuchmannThank you so much for having this chat!! I learned a lot! I saw things from a different point of view than what I had originally heard from other sources. I know there are still many questions reagarding the health care reform, but at the basis of it all, we need reform for our children and our families. Thank you so much for having this opportunity for me right in my own home!!

October 14, 2009 at 9:28 pm by catlamWell.. now that the healthcare reform bill is getting closer to becoming law.. How do all of you feel about your support for the bill?.. or do you still not understand the provisions in the bill. First of all, Congress and all government employees are exempt from having to comply with the provisions. Secondly, private insurance companies are required to do what is called a QARY (quality adjusted remaining years). Cutting to the chase, it means that your age and remaining quality of life is considered with regards to the cost of a necessary medical procedure.. if you are 85 and it is determined that you will only live approx. 10 more years.. and the procedure will cost 100K.. your private doctor, who is accepting your private insurance for payment, is required to report to the government that the cost is 10K per yr.. TOO MUCH!.. so if he performs the procedure.. your insurance company will be fined! And to think AARP supports this bill.. Gee, kinda obvious they are receiving lots of money when the bill passes.

Here are a few links regarding QARY.

You know, we all agree that something has to be done about the rising cost of health care.. but do we want to make it worse?

I’m sold on the need for health reform! But isn’t it too late for people to get involved? It seems like the reform process is out of our hands now.

@Lara Warren, it’s not too late to get involved! Different versions of a health reform bill are making their ways through Congress, so we still have a chance to speak up for the ones that best support families’ needs.
Keep watching your email inbox — we’ll keep sending you opportunities to make your voice heard as a mom (or someone who loves a mom and families!).
If you haven’t signed up to receive our easy-action emails, just scroll to the top of this page and fill in your info next to “Get Involved.” Thanks!! And tell your friends and family– you’re right that the time is now to speak up!

I am new to your group but not for long. Could you please comment on the fact that the swine flu vaccines are full of mercury. Also about the fact that Al Gore has borrowed lots of money from our government and is backing an auto company in another country while our people remain on the bread lines. Thank all of you. Keep it up.
