Free MOM sticker, as our thanks

    Posted June 5th, 2009 by

This past Mother’s Day, millions of people sent over 12,000,000 moms a well-deserved MomsRising Mother of the Year Award. The Huffington Post called it a “national mom uprising”!

Since then, we’ve been receiving touching “thank you” notes from moms all over the country. As moms ourselves, we know this to be true: Moms put their heart-and-soul into their families, and we appreciate being appreciated for it.

So as a small tangible token of our appreciation, we’d like to offer you a free MOM bumper sticker:

If you’re not a mom, give it to a mom that you love or admire. Displaying your sticker will help us build a mom-friendly culture, where moms are appreciated every day, not just Mother’s Day.

Forward this email to your favorite moms so they can order theirs-or click below to order one for yourself if you haven’t already.

Thanks for being a part of the “mom uprising”!

You do not have to donate to get the sticker. I did not feel bad when I did not donate. I can not believe this was made into such a big deal by so many. I saw nothing horrible about it, but everyone needs someone to be pissed off at right?

Are you related to Heather Finkbeiner? She is a wonderful person! And, so are you for offering the “Mom” stickers!

    Warm Regards,

    a friend and Mom

You need to change how you do your “free” sticker. I just read another persons post who had the same issue I had and I unsubscribed to your site – if I get a sticker great, but don’t make me go to a page and trick me – that is unethical and I am an ethical Mom who teaches her children how to become/be ethical children/teens/adults.

People…….. lets leave the nasty comments at home, please? Nothing is truly free anymore, but these stickers actually ARE. Yes, they would like to give you the opportunity to donate, but you do not HAVE to.

@Gretchen, I am a giver – I give to over 20 different causes. I am just tired of the word free being used and then being shuttled to a donation and or someone trying to get something $$ site especially at a site like this where everything should be straight forward; we’re Moms for crying out loud, we don’t need any side roads. Please rethink your tactic that’s all I am saying if that upsets you well I am not intending to upset you – simply want things to be straight forward.

I am one of the moms that could use a free sticker’ how do you choose. If I could pay I would have, instead I feel that I have wasted my time filling in you “Free Application”

I will delete my info. Please do not include me in on your sad attempt to get donations. I will let my friends know how you do business.

That is exactly how I felt forced to make a donation. To me there should of been an option not able to help at this time. Tacky!

Much of what is written about here on “Moms Rising” is applicable to Dads, too.

I would suggest that your cry for equality will be heard more loudly if you first treat everyone fairly yourself.

I feel the free sticker email is duplicitous. Although the sticker is technically free, it is really just an underhanded way to seek donations. I would have donated if it had been a straightforward request with a thank you sticker. Just another organization that attempts to take advantage of people’s interest in their communities. I will unsubscribe to all future emails and solicitations. Really tired of the attempted manipulations.

I don’t think they are really “free” which is too bad because I literally don’t have any money in my bank account and the sticker “changing more than diapers” is really cute.

I followed the link to get my “free” sticker but before I ever entered my mailing address or anything, it prompted me to “donate as little as $1″ – and if I didn’t, donate a dollar, it wouldn’t let me proceed to the next page.

So much for a “Free” gift. I’m disappointed.

    Peace,
    Becky

@Rebecca O’Neill, Glad you received your delivery confirmation email! They really are free. :) Watch your mail, though, because they come in a little inconspicuous plain white envelope, and it’s easy to miss it. Enjoy it!
