Earlier today, Jamie took to the stage at the One Young World summit in Zurich to give a rare speech. His focus this morning? Global obesity and the urgent need for strategic action in order to educate and empower young people and communities so that they have the knowledge to make better food choices.

To mark Jamie’s speech we have launched some exciting new Food Revolution pages, including a new petition page on the Facebook Food Revolution Community which we hope will help us push Jamie’s petition to over 1million.

The Food Revolution petition has gained over 700,000 supporters since March 2010; mostly from the USA and over 30,000 from the rest of the world. We have now updated Jamie’s petition, as can be seen on our new pages, to show a global count of supporters. The petition is still the same but widened out to address a global problem. This is a move to highlight the global obesity epidemic: 1.7 billion people are obese or overweight globally including 200 million children. The world wants a Food Revolution!

So if you support the Revolution and you haven’t already signed up to be a part of it, visit our new petition page, add your name and check our new and exclusive supporter’s video featuring Sir Elton John & Jen Anniston among others! Once you have done so, don’t forget to ask all your friends and family to join you in doing the same.

Thanks for your support,

The Food Revolution Team
