No More Toxic Toys!
Use your mobile phone while you're shopping, or look online, to search a database of over 1,200 toys and other products to see if they contain toxic chemicals. Here's how it works:
1 - USE YOUR MOBILE PHONE WHILE SHOPPING TO CHECK IF TOYS CONTAIN HIGH LEVELS OF TOXIC CHEMICALS:

Here are specific directions on how to check if toys contain toxic chemicals from your cell phone:
Send a SMS/text message to 41411 with the text, "healthytoys [search term/toy name]" -- where [search term] is the name of a toy, type of toy, manufacturer, or retailer. This will let you know if a toy contains toxic chemicals or not.
Example: Text "healthytoys alphabet pal" to 41411 to find out the toxics rating for the Alphabet Pal by Leap Frog, sold at Walmart. You can also search by retailer (text "healthytoys walmart" to 41411) or manufacturer (text "healthytoys leap frog" to 41411).
We'll respond instantly with the results, based on recent comprehensive tests by HealthyToys.com. The results will indicate whether the toy or product had a low, medium, or high detection of toxic chemicals.
Just looking for toys with low-toxics ratings? To narrow your search results, you can text "healthytoys [low] [searchterm]" to narrow your results. For example, if you're at Target and want to find the toys there that got a low rating, text: "healthytoys low target" to 41411.
TWO TIPS:
-You don't need to use the quotation marks or brackets on your text message as we have here in the examples.
-Also, if your mobile phone is set up to automatically send your text messages with your name or any auto-signature at the end of the text message, you will have to delete that on these particular text messages in order for them to work.
2 - CHECK ONLINE IF A TOY CONTAINS TOXIC CHEMICALS:
*Go to www.HealthyToys.org to find out if toys contain toxic chemicals online.

The HealthyToys.org database was created by the the Michigan-based Ecology Center, together with the Washington Toxics Coalition, as well as environmental health organizations across the country. This database shows the extent of the problem of toxic ingredients and provides test results and general guidance for parents, grandparents, and others wishing to purchase less toxic toys. MomsRising.org is teaming up with them to provide the cell phone platform to distribute this information far and wide.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The HealthyToys.org ratings do not provide a measure of health risk or chemical exposure associated with any individual toy or children's product, or any individual element or related chemical.
