MomsVote Toolbox (or Mama's Purse, if you prefer)

We know how hard it is to juggle all the things you do as a busy mom, but voting is really important, particularly in this close election. Help us get out the mom vote this critical election year:

  • GET ENGAGED IN 2008! Check out Our Advocacy Tool Box. Click here.
  • Make Sure You and Your Friends are Registered! You can still register in some states up until and including Election Day! And, Vote Early If You Can.
  • Vote. Mark your calendar now. Or, avoid the lines, and vote early. More states than ever (though sadly not all) are allowing early and/or absentee voting this year. Some states require that you have an excuse to vote absentee. A little-known fact is that volunteering at the polls on Election Day is a valid excuse to vote early/absentee. The benefit to voting early is that it takes a load off your multi-tasking mind and ensures that an unforeseen event, such as a sick child or long work day, won’t prevent you from voting. Find out what your state allows.
  • Help out on Election Day. Volunteer at the polls; arrange car pools or walking buddies to help moms get to the polls; or watch other moms’ kids while they vote.
  • Spread the Word about MomsRising.org. Help us create a million-mom movement to let all politicians know that we moms, regardless of our party affiliations, want a more family-friendly nation. We care about core family issues like paid family leave and paid sick day; health care; affordable and quality child care and early learning programs; fair pay for moms; better after-school programs; and keeping toxins out of our toys and homes. The more people who join our effort, the more powerful our voice will be and the more likely we are to get real solutions.

Studies show that moms are more likely to vote and get involved when prompted and supported by other moms they know. In other words, personal connections make a difference. You can be part of a mom's support network. Thanks for helping!
