MomsRising.org Asks North Carolina Legislators to Give Kids a Hand and Families “a Fair Shake” in State Budget Negotiations
MomsRising.org, the online and on-the-ground grassroots organization for moms and everyone who has a mom, will deliver hundreds of ceramic tiles with children’s handprints on them to state legislators urging them to “lend kids a hand” and preserve key children’s programs as they work to balance the budget at:
North Carolina General Assembly
16 West Jones Street
Raleigh, North Carolina
Each tile will bear a note with a brief message from a North Carolina resident urging legislators to give kids and families a fair shake in their budget negotiations, by working to preserve programs like Smart Start and NC Health Choice, which ensure that young children get a healthy start in life. MomsRising.org, a nationwide organization that supports family-friendly policies, generated these messages through e-outreaches to its North Carolina.
MomsRising.org spokesperson Beth Messersmith will be on-site and available for comment.
Momrsrising.org is an online grassroots organization that is working for paid family leave, flexible work options, excellent child care and health care for all children, and to stop the wage and hiring biases that penalize so many mothers today.
